Title: Applications and mathematical properties of the log-ratio mode
Speaker: Professor Dennis Deng, Department of Engineering, La Trobe University
Abstract: The log-ratio model was originally developed as a mathematical tool to systematically solve the out-of-range problem in image processing. In this talk, I will present its applications and mathematical properties. After a brief review of the concept of a generalized linear system, the log-ratio model is defined and an unsharp masking algorithm is presented. The relationship between the log-ratio model and the Bregman divergence is then discussed. This is followed by the parameterization of the log-ratio model through the triangular norm.
